Two Individuals Accused In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a suspected irritant spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, police said.
A young child was among those injured in the event. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
