FC Barcelona to Host First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
