The loved ones of teens lost after a tragic inferno at a venue in a Swiss winter destination are confronting an excruciating wait for confirmed information and pleading for clues about their children publicly.

The fire ripped through the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Verified footage depict the roof structure catching alight as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Authorities have stated that it could take considerable time to identify the fatalities of the tragedy, which killed 40 people and hurt another scores more. A spokesperson noted on Friday that the majority of the those hurt have been identified, with efforts ongoing to locate the final individuals.

In the meantime, loved ones have been posting on social media to plead for clues about their missing relatives who were at the bar that fateful night.

Desperate Searches for the Missing

The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are still unconfirmed, according to an public plea from his family.

The resident of Lutry near the city, told a local newspaper that she had returned to Lausanne to see if he was in the hospital, while his other parent did the equivalent search in Bern, but could not find him.

"I'm living a nightmare, an ordeal. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in intensive care. It's terrible," she stated.

She continued that some of his friends had been found with injuries covering nearly half their bodies. "There are no words; they endured a terrifying ordeal."

The Italy's foreign ministry has confirmed that six of its nationals remain missing.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old promising athlete, originally from Italy but now residing in the UAE.

The national sporting body has released a tribute that he is dead, without directly referencing the fire, paying tribute to a "young athlete who represented passion and authentic values."

His parent, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has clarified that a official announcement of his death is awaited.

Additional Cases

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is likewise among the missing. His parent explained that he had been on holiday but had gone out with friends and ended up at the bar.

"A close friend told me they fled after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he couldn't see him anymore," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his educators stated, "I remember his good nature and positive demeanor, coupled with great maturity. Every time ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Swiss and Greek nationality but lives full-time in the country, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to media.

Her brother has shared an urgent request on social media, saying the relatives has had "no news" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Consular authorities from her other nation say they are closely watching the developments.
