British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital follows the boxing community shared condolences for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
